M.O.T. Costs Rise

07/03/2012

M.O.T. Costs RiseA new report has shown that MOT failure is costing UK motorists £1.44 billion a year in repairs – car owners have to spend an average of £143, compared to £82 from 18 months ago, to pass the test.

What's interesting in the report is the fact that 38% of drivers quizzed admit to waiting until the last minute before booking their test while 23% "keep their fingers crossed" in regards to preparation.

Lights and signalling were the biggest cause of MOT failure, with tyres, windscreen and visibility problems coming next, followed by brakes and steering.

During March 2012 NSN are offering 20% off all MOTs or 33% off an MOT and 10% off a service when booked together.
